TREATMENT OF AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES
These diseases include lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto’s, Graves’ disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, type 1 diabetes, and autoimmune hepatitis just to mention a few.
Autoimmune disease is now the third most prevalent disease after cancer and heart disease. It is rapidly increasing. It is rapidly increasing because to the environment. There is a genetic susceptibility but the environmental triggers such as the wheat and gluten, toxic chemicals, toxic metals, formaldehyde, plastic in the environment as well as the many infections pull the trigger and cause the disease. Imbalances in the micro-biome with dysfunction of intestinal permeability and “leaky gut” are exceedingly common.
The problem is that these infections and metals and toxins all can react with various tissues in the body such as the liver, brain, muscle, joint, kidney, pancreas and many other organs to calls a multisystemic autoimmune disease.
I have seen people with Alzheimer’s present with autoimmune disease with autoantibodies to the blood brain barrier as well as autoantibodies to mercury and several toxins and infections. These all cross-react causing symptoms.
I have seen cases of autoimmune hepatitis with various toxins heavy metals and infections.
I have seen a patient with Parkinson’s disease that had autoantibodies to his brain cells as well as autoantibodies to gluten and he also had “leaky gut” syndrome.
I have seen a patient with Hashimoto’s disease of the thyroid but after testing he was also found to have autoantibodies to his brain and adrenal gland and other organs.
In treating autoimmune disease, I feel that testing is essential. Testing for intestinal permeability, as well as testing for foods, metals, toxins and infections is exceedingly important. Testing for abnormalities in the permeability of the blood brain barrier can predict neurologic disease in later years.
Once testing is performed the patient will be retested in 6 months later to assure that the antibody levels have decreased or gone away completely. There are changes that have to be made by the patient that her lifelong. Of course, testing for vitamins and minerals as well as hormone levels are essential.
We need to remember that autoimmune disease is not limited to one organ in the body. It is using multisystemic that is to say it affects different organ systems. These usually go unrecognized unless testing for it.
The treatment is multifaceted and is based on the patient’s genetic makeup as well as his toxic load. Remember we are all different. I used intravenous nutritional therapies, hormone therapies as well as stem cell therapies and exosomes. I do use traditional therapies but have added an integrative approach.
